Sharpness Matters

Let your tools do more work - so you don’t have to

How do

sharp knives and tools

benefit you?

Top 4

1. Sharp knives give you more control, are easier to use, and cause less fatigue.

2. A finer cut will produce better-tasting and more nutritious food. A dull edge will crush and damage the fibers and proteins in the food, but a sharp edge will cleanly slice through them. This helps retain a greater amount of the food’s nutrition. This is the same reason that sharp knives cause fewer tears when cutting onions.

3. Sharp knives are more predictable and thus safer to use. Cutting with a dull knife requires greater force, making it more likely to slip and cause serious injury.

4. Sharp tools are simply more enjoyable to use. This means we are more likely to use them.

How it all began

My passion for sharpening began over ten years ago. As a woodworker, I needed sharp tools to do my projects well. I soon realized how much there was to learn. A journey began by studying and learning the art of sharpening. As my technique developed, I started to invest in more and better equipment to apply my sharpening skills to other areas of my life, such as the kitchen, lawn, and garden tools. I've been fortunate to learn from some of the best sharpeners around the country. I want to use what I've learned to benefit others. Here at Custom Edge Sharpening, I am committed to providing the best service by making your knives and tools look and cut at the highest level possible.
